World War 2 "A Day that will live in Infamy"


During World War II, Hawaii, Pearl Harbor, played a crucial role, being the target of a surprise attack by Japan on December 7, 1941, that initiated the US's entry into the war. The attack led to the deaths of over 2,400 Americans and caused significant damage to the US Pacific Fleet. Hawaii also became a critical base for the US military, with preparations for expanded military use throughout the islands.

Yum Yum Tree was a casual-dining restaurant chain in Hawaii, known for its coffee shop and diner atmosphere, particularly its pies. Yum Yum Tree was owned by Trans Pacific Restaurants that owned a bunch of other restaurants in Hawaii and managed several locations including: West Ridge Aiea, Downtown Ward Centre, Aikai Kailua, Mililani, and Kahala. Octopus in Hawaii is known as "He'e", particularly the Hawaiian Day Octopus is known as he'e, he'e mauli, day octopus, day squid, or by its scientific name "Octopus cyanea". It is difficult to know if it is a Crescent Octopus as it is also known as "He'e" and by its scientific name "Octopus hawaiiensis".
