Yokai Watch: Hawaii
Can't Stop Catching Sun on the Beach
Fan-Project, the Story follows Nathan Adams who goes on a trip to the fictitious Hawaiian Islands city of Surfrider, and Kimo Kahiki, a layed-back musician who talks with yo-kai in Two Lagoon Town. Another character is Malia Aumakua who always swims as her hobby has different aesthetics and a home in which there is a special Butsudan which has her grandmothers watch. The story is based off of "Obake" of Hawaii folklore or ghosts or spirits and are seen as a type of Yokai.
Yokai Watch Role Playing Game Project
Core Rulebooks: The RPG section is where you will find the Core Rulebooks that will create the very foundations of the game play and structure of the universe itself. The first in the series of core rulebooks is Yokai Watch: in Osaka, which explains the basics of rules and combat in the 2000s with hope and optimism that ended with the recession. These rules involve playing with Characters, Transportation, and Yokai. Using the picture screen shots from previous animes and great visuals of the art books the strength of the system is set for the players to choose their destinies and wishes of which their story shall unfold.
Yokai Database Books: Many players involved in the Yokai Watch universe will aim to first look at yokai combat, the relationships, the scenarios, and the artifacts. The tools necessary to fully understand how to make a modern slice-of-life mega cool experience requires information at a very detailed level for every aspect of the worlds items, weapons, and technology. The Yokai Database Books are the guidebooks that will explain the intricacies within each of its separate entries on its pages. The community will have its illustration entries, home planning statistics, friend philosophies, tech usage, and school association. This allows for statistics and capabilities being connected to a players identity in their own play-style and interest of school and work competition.
Faction Hand Books: The Yokai Watch Universe, has information about some of the known factions in the storytelling that provides a sampling of each or even implies of existence of such in the history. For those who wish to look even further into the factions for a immersive experience that is diversified in playing style and design there are the Faction Hand Books. The Faction Handbooks are a series of describing the faction culture, faction history, faction politics, faction philosophy, and faction designs that make the factions "kit box". A Kit Box is a set of articles of game functions needed for a specific grouping in a game. When a player has access to such materials it creates a wonderful change to make material that is more unique to the faction itself and makes for great role-playing campaigns.
Yokai Folklore Books: Yokai Watch has a timeline similar to real life Japan and the world with comedy and popular tropes from the spiritual and the mythical. The progressing storylines make for an even more dynamic universe as things move on the main plot line of the primary story. Some of the best stories from game masters would be integrated and slightly changed from its base material and shoot a gust of life into the lore for an expanded universe for other players to read to really get into the game.
Nyan Doujin Novels: Nothing is better than reading discussions about Yokai Watch to much of the fandom, so naturally the ideas that spawn from the love of the show is no surprise a hit. There have been fanfics for years that have made people wonder about the expansion of the universe, the sub-stories of other characters, and further discussion of what life in the universe of Yokai Watch would be like for world design. This would lead to the feedback on such projects turning into written campaigns from a fanfic-novel that had attracted many newcomers to the series through more story. Those who continue to play in the community have a large host of players that have interesting stories to tell that can be full of battles that show the battle of morals, maybe a immersive faction experience to show the flaws of human disorders, and a intense experience of the life of making something from nothing, a strength of thinking as well as overthinking, and by accepting the task ahead with self motivation

Yokai Watch Fans: The Empty Era of Monster Games
Yokai Watch, came out during a time where collecting games and cute mascot characters were exhausted in their use in the video game market place, but it became a hit with all odds against it. Launching in 2013, the themes of using Yokai wasn't all too popular and the cultural presence it had in many of its jokes had left it to translation alteration, but as many fans of series they saw both Japanese with subtitles and the english dubs. As it rised in popularity it looked like Yokai Watch would be the opponent to the long established monster collection series "Pokemon".
The Original Game came out as the source material of what would later be the anime, so many who were introduced from the game stick with the game and those who stick with the anime stick with the show, but it doesn't mean that a fan can't enjoy both. Luckily when even looking at the Manga the storyline and the characters as well as the areas seem pretty close where it isn't much of a difference, so most changes are pointed out from language translated versions of the series. With multiple different variations keeping really close to one another it makes for a more peaceful sort of community that can concentrate more on what they like more than what they don't and enjoy the fandom.
The international audiences had pointed out that the theme of "Yokai Creatures" had foreign appeal, the setting and jokes were "Culturally Japan", and the amount of references to "Japanese Language" were abundant to create one of the biggest common interests of the series being "Japan" itself. Since the show had humor that would appeal to children, teens, and adults the wide range of audience reach would make it of interest to all sorts of players from all sorts of ages. While it had everything that would be needed to be a house-hold name and the engineering necessary to be a persons obsession with as a series and its contents the series still is yet to be seen of its true potential.
With Pokemon being the king of all monster game titles of cute collectible creatures by outlasting Digimon, Monster Rancher, the rise of another title such as Yokai Watch was highly unlikely. Without a strong competitor in monster games being released at the time would mean that there would still be a chance at a title like Yokai watch having growth as an option outside of the the Pokemon franchise.
Competing with such a heavy hitter title Yokai Watch would have to come out swinging with collections of Yokai, Yokai Watch products, and Yokai Watch games in different genres. It was a phenomena in Japan where it was standing toe to toe with Pokemon for a short amount of time, but took a dive as the series expansions were released with Yokai Watch 2, and Yokai Watch 3, but what sealed the deal was the change of a target audience of Teens and Young Adults with Yokai Watch 4 that was not as well received as its predecessors.
Level-5 had reportedly ended North American operations and had no plans of releasing more games outside of Japan. This had left a bad taste in the mouth of the fan base that started translating much of the material from Japan themselves and creating large amounts of content to discuss on social media in hopes of bringing more players in to show the company the interest was still large outside of Japans borders. The series would continue with spin offs such as Yokai Watch World and Yokai Y-Academy with its cute story, iconic music and sound, and continue to have a following.
The Yokai Watchers Club
Yokai Watch was written by Noriyuki Konishi, it is magical and comedic as well as filled with wonder and excitement, the group "The Yokai Watchers" dedicates this to the team at Level-5.
If you can actually see this text then you are a watcher. A person who can see the mysterious Yokai and be given the title of a Yokai Watcher who can see spirit things, ghostly things, strange sightings, and other sorts of super natural things. Whatever happens from here on out a Yokai Watchers life is never going to be the same once they start seeing the Yokai. Finding out the stories of these beings can bring wisdom, bountiful facts, and keep you busy with interesting things, and with each part of others stories the Watcher will begin to recognize parts of their own life in which are relatable and help them on their own exciting life journey or after life if the person is dead.
Preface: The Yokai Watchers Y-Pad Encyclopedia is a collaboration from those online and apart of the Yokai Watch community from its global fan base from countries all over the world. The stories in the show each have their own charm and fun with a lesson important in showing life lessons, childhood curiosities, and explorations of Japan and the rest of the globe. The lessons and story elaboration looks into messages at a deep level, a steep level, maybe even a creepy level, but it does fully look into the complicated matter of what is that stories lesson that is not easily seen when first looked at. The helpful fans of the group help have their own theories and contributions for others to see and the Yokai Watchers help in completing the data collection for the thoroughly and lengthy Y-Pad Encyclopedia. So what are we all waiting for! its time to start writing and keep on reading to become a well informed Yokai watcher!
Inspiritings of the World: When something feels strange and doesn't make sense, often times it can be the work of a Yokai! Inspiritings happen all the time and too all kines of places, people, things, etc. Inspiriting happens when a Yokai refuses to believe its place of demise because they can not accept the fact that they are no longer alive. When something is alive they can have some turn of events, something dramatic, or something traumatic happen and those are situations which make a person vulnerable to inspiritings, and thus take on the problems of the Yokai. The person will continue this process till they negotiate with themself as they are possessed or confront the problem directly to stop being inspirited from the Yokai.
Yokai Watchers Community: The subtleties within the series are discussed time and time again with other people who are Yokai Watchers or just "Watchers" for short. While each person is playing the game or watching the show or reading the manga they are all connected from the bonds of the show and have the possibility of being friends. The series itself marks as a symbol of the supernatural all the while connecting people from all over. These organized fans come from all over the world and have a particular infatuation with the series and have no qualms in discussing it to show that the series may seem ghostly and dead, but it is actually very much alive from those who continue to remember it and keep the memories alive themselves.
Yokai Watch Play Overseas
Yokai Watches online community has been at the forefront of the efforts to promote Yokai Watch series along with influencers like Abdallah and translators trying to make the series more accessible with a hungry audience waiting for products to purchase. It has been years since the games and the anime series has initially launched in the western market place and, in spite of some criticism, there are definitely some parts of the series’s success.
The spread of the series has went from the status of “Underdog” childs game to a competitor of the Pokemon and Digimon serieses. For a short period of time there was a large interest in Yokai Watch merchandise being imported from Japan, because it was really hard to find anything to spend money on overseas. After awhile the series lost some its most iconic voice actors that the community loved and then it was more difficult to watch the english dubs and impossible to find subtitled versions. The series was literally disappearing from lack of access and the standards of expected quality.
A Dedicated group initiative has played the role in writing articles and promoting the exports of the game series and meets on Facebook and Discord to formalize objectives for strategies on gathering research information and celebrating Yokai Watch called “Yokai Watch- Play Overseas” aka. YWPO. The group of fans was partly in result of the game’s grim company situation of Level-5 when faced with deflation, fan exiting, and declining demand.
The series is still popular for its Yokai Watch Monsters, Japan Immersions, and Unique game experience, and for its huge world expansion from Yokai Watch 4.
Obake Files: Ghostly Encounters in Supernatural Hawai'I (Chicken Skin Series)
Yokai Watch Time Travel
In Yokai Watch 2, the characters are set back in the town of springdale (sakura newtown), until Nate (Keita) takes the Springdale Train line to his grandmothers area. Throughout the game there are many strangers talking to Nate (Keita) to get some information as well as some items: Mr Goodsight, Joe Johnson (home room teacher). Then Nate (Keita) reaches the station to take a bus (200 yen) over to the rural area where his grandma lives (Harrisville).
The Wicked Stones and The Flow of Time
The Time Stone (aka The Rewind Stone), has a swirl pattern on it and can rewind things in time. It is a consumable item that turns into spiritual energy that opens up a short duration gate to the "Flow of time". It is called by Nathaniel (Keizo) as a "Wicked Stone" used by the Wicked Tribe.
The Flow of time, is a period of time and space that is in between the gate entrance and the gate exit to the time destination.
In Jibanya's Secret (eps.025 anime) villains Witch Kin and Witch Gin rewind the past of Jibanyan rather than traveling to the past itself. In the Movie 1, they use the time stone to make a "Time Clock" to move through the "Flow of Time" which can go forward, pause, or backward, depending on the powers of available artifacts.
The Pause Stone, has a pause symbol on it and can freeze things in time.
The theorized Future Stone, has a fast forward symbol on it and can fast forward things in time.
Robanyan Messes with Time
Robanyan always comes from the future and goes back in time to help Nate (Keita), so some fans ask how. Maybe it could be that he may have obtained certain artifacts to do so, since he is not seen using a Miradox to enter the flow of time.
Miradox and Time Period Travel Destinations
Yokai Watch 2, it simply goes back in time using a dimensional portal created by the yokai "Miradox". Miradox, which is part Mirapo and extends to the noble yokai family that connects warp points to other mirrors.
Except in the case of Miradox it connects to other Miradox in other time periods. (1) Ancient Japan (Paleo Period, Jomon Period, Yayoi Period, Kofun Period), (2) Classical Japan (Asuka Period, Nara Period, Heian Period), (3) Feudal Japan (Kamakura Period, Muromachi Period, Azuchi-Momoyama Period), (4) Early Modern Japan (Edo Period), (5) Modern Japan (Meiji Period, Taisho Period, Showa Period, Heisei Period, Reiwa Period)
The Yokai Watch World
The Yokai Watch World, is the main planet for the Yokai Watch franchise, set in the Yokai Watch universe. It is almost identical to the real world, and is inspired on it greatly, but there are definitely things to show it is clearly a work of fiction that makes it different from the actual world. The world of Yokai Watch is based on Japanese culture and other various cultures in its interpretation and creative freedom of making a world based on puns, jokes, and international Yokai designs.
The Geography of the Yokai Watch world looks like the real world as it can be seen from images of continents being almost exactly the same as the real world with its nature, man made structures, and a few cultural differences when travelling. Oftentimes it is theorized how each place on earth is designed and layed out from the design patterns in the series in comparison to Japan in Yokai Watch versus the real world, but for other places around the Earth. Some advertisements show locations that were lightly covered, such as Hawaii where the Hawaii in Yokai Watch hasn’t completely been explored there are people from the actual state that theorize what its like or what its even called.
Humans and Yokai are some how linked from place to place and are often times based on existing stories or completely made up altogether. This can be seen with the very idea of Yokai themselves being from Japan, but somehow around the entire planet Yokai exist! Luckily there are apparitions, ghosts, and spirits that can be easy to find and a bases to creating new sorts of Yokai that are yet made and it can act as its own inspiration for fan-made content and even more theorizing. It makes the whole world a really interesting design project as the fans wait in anticipation for the next Yokai Watch title to see what is pulled from the fandom and what is completely made from scratch from the team at “Level-5”.
In Yokai Watch 2 it simply goes back in time using a dimensional portal created by the yokai "Miradox". In Yokai Watch 3, the main character travels with his family to the country of 'Merica in the state of BBQ and living in St.Peanutsburg.
This means that there are (1) countries around the Yokai Watch World, (2) states in 'Merica, (3) and a town called St.Peanutsburg. This is a sample and guide of the concepts of the places around the world, which allows players to theorize naming conventions and themes.
Yokai Watch can be concluded to be using real world inspirations, which has been a popular way to talk about the globe with each game specializing in a envisioned version of a place. They are not the same, but made to fit the world with its unique take and theming, when games make many real world references it is seen in marketing as a way to bond with international player bases.
Yokai Watch World Around the World: We can't forget that the Yokai universe in the alternate dimension is the same size as the real world. That means these games could have some way of looking into both worlds. Possibilities are endless with time as well, since the Yokai could have the ability to go back in time as well as hold a countless amount of forms depending on the mythology of ghosts, spirits, entities, demons, angels, dead, and alive, etc.
Yokai Watch Competing with Pokemon: Level-5 competes with Game Freak with the reputation as its internal competitor. So the comparison of Pokemon and Yokai Watch both using a variety of real-world countries as the basis for areas in the games is a typical discussion/dispute. In Yokai Watch 3 this has only begun, but Yokai Watch tends to have much more emphasis on Japan and its history than its competitor of Pokemon, but both have global appeal in at least having some short stories overseas.
For Yokai Watch to catch up to the area-variety of its competition there would be areas seven other continents to visit. In Pokemon they have been areas similar to:
Pokemon Origins YRB (Japan),
Pokemon B/W (America),
Pokemon Sun & Moon (Hawaii),
Pokemon X & Y (France),
Pokemon Sword & Shield (United Kingdoms).
So, in the thematics of Yokai Watch the likely picks for area themes would be:
Yokai Watch Sushi & Tempura (America),
Yokai Watch Lotus & Orchid (China),
Yokai Watch Sky & Earth (Korea),
Yokai Watch Locomoco & Macnut Pancakes (Hawaii), Yokai Watch Gargoyle & Daemon (England).
Eventually their will be versions that use as much as the world as possible if the games keep making money. However in Japan they are exposed to specific countries that would be looked at in consideration over what westerners may be familiar or thinking obvious sources to be used. For example it might be typical to think of places like: France, Italy, Africa, or Mexico as some of the first places to go. But in Yokai Watch it would be more like the exposure of groups in Japan like the areas of Brazil and India.
'Merican Yokai
Welcome to Merica!
'Merican Yokai are named after the slang americans call themselves jokingly Mericans when they are overly patriotic to their country and say many words of slang.
Does your country have a word like Merican for your country? If Yokai Watch has a word that would describe the type of Yokai from your country what word do you think they would use?
Brazilian Yokai
Hawaiian Yokai
Yokai Watch Factions
Toadal Dude in Yokai Watch 2 explains that it was hundreds of years ago, before the Yokai split into Bonies and Fleshies. It really makes the player wonder if there are multiple splits, such as the way actual history tends to play out with different points of view and then the creation of different factions, especially in Japan.
The appearance is similar to 1467 to 1615 Sengoku era during the time of Samurai, Ninja, and Clans, which is used as a referance. In this time gift giving was seen as a show of respect and manners and even forceful gift giving when someone may have feared being taken over to be in the good graces of other warlords and historically they would even offer marriage proposals of their children. But, in the case of Yokai Watch the offering shown by Arachnus and Toadal Dude is donuts to give lord Enma representing all Yokai under their command.
Factions of the Yokai Watch Universe: The Yokai Watch Universe is expanding from game to game in a world that is slowly uncovered from the mysteries of the wonderful Yokai Watch. Yokai Watch spans the length of Japans timeline and enters into the globalized modern word with many people, yokai, demons, ogres, as well as other beings with multiple factions. It would be theorized that these factions would have all been involve din the Yokai Wars.
Tribe Confusion with Yokai Type-Factions: In Japanese the use of tribe is broadly used from everything involving: Elemental Affiliation, Yokai Type, and Faction Allegiance. So, for localization it can be a nightmare and in Japanese they probably should consider other terms to use to make sure that each separate use of the word tribe has its own term. Tribe should essentially be the term for "Yokai Type", since it was the first use of the term tribe.
Complexity through the Games: Organizing level 5's profiles for yokai is getting incredibly complex. What I mean by this is trying to figure out all the different ideas placed in a single format that fit the changes they made through each of the yokai watch titles. I will explain slowly but surely as I am finding out about each yokai game and its changes and additions.
I just found out in the first game that there were tribes. Each tribe would define what type of yokai it would be. Each yokai had special moves (unique moves), equipment (stat changes), personality types (ai mode selection), food preferences (status effects).
When introduced to the second game another layer would be added to tribes. Factions would be involved in the storyline, but would have all types of tribes. Each yokai had attributes (elemental), faction allegiance (faction set specialties).
each game escalated everything slowly but surely. It almost seems like it went so fast in the development phase. That they used all the different functions that they were going to develop in the future. But through it all that yokai watch as soon as they programmed it.
I will probably add more to this comment later. Since, as people comment on here it helps me figure out how the game works. And then figure out how the game system could have been better throughout its releases. When we have discussions like this it helps the developer figure out how they would enhance the game experience. We have this second chance luckily because of the switch.
Below this are just notes for game development.
And in game development this means that factions would have its own unique set of specialties and the tribes involved in them would have extension specialties.
The Complicated Species-Based Factions
In Yokai Watch 4, things got really confusing due to the factions being devided by every origin of a species of Yokai from the Yokai World. The reason it mentions origins is that species appear from their meaning of becoming a Yokai. In Shadowside this creates the factions: Onnen (hatred), Goriki (perseverance), Omamori (artifact charm), Mononoke (Princess), Tsukumono (Inanimates), Usanosora Tribe (absent mindedness), Mikado (nobility), Izana (inviting), Oni (ogre), Shinma (true demon), and Mikakunin (unidentified alien).
The Species-Based factions, were used to replace the original Yokai-Type Factions in Shadowside, however many people had grown attachment to the original type-factions and viewed Species-Based factions as its own groups entirely. This meant there was a large conflict amongst people who liked Shadowside (Yokai Watch 4) and the original series nicknamed Lightside (Yokai Watch 1-3), which separated the community without having consistency through the series faction organization.
Regions of Yokai: Factions are usually based on territory of area, so in the case of the Yokai Watch Universe it would be important to check out the different territories involved. This would be: The Ningen World (human world), The Yokai World (yokai world), The Hell World, and The Heaven World. And that is just what we know so far, because there could be many other regions out there that they have yet to announce or have in their concept design of the universe of Yokai Watch.
Each World is vast, especially as it is shown from the head counsel of one of the main areas of Lord Enma. In the concept art of Yokai Watch 4 there are multiple "Uniform Faction Poles" called Sashimono that are sticking out of the ground. Historically these were attached to Elite Samurai (Ashigaru), Shogunite Members, and Cavalry Soldiers in the Sengoku Period.
This means the Yokai World could take a very long time to explore and involve a multitude of titles, which would work really well in understanding the Yokai World as the supporting title in the dual releases of titles that is common in Yokai Watch's release history.
Naming Factions of the Yokai Watch Universe
Bony Spirits: Custard-filled Donuts (Bonies), there is still more to be learned about this group.
Fleshy Souls: Cream-filled Donuts (Fleshies), there is still more to be learned about this group.
Psychic Specters: The game never directly states who the Psychic Specters are, but it is thought that the group run by Dame Dedtime with Kin & Gin are the group in question.
Yokai Law Enforcement
As many ideas in Yokai Watch there are referances that are used jokingly, such as the Blasters. They were based on the series "Ghost Busters" and played homage to it with the series Blasters where misbehaving Yokai will be controlled and sent back to the Yokai Government in the Yokai World.
Red Cats Corps (Blasters)
White Dog Squads (Blasters)
Moon Rabbit Crews (Blasters)
Japanese Organization Naming and Yokai Watch
家け (ke) neutrally refers to both an individual household and the whole clan spanning several hundred years or more. For example 徳川家 (Tokugawa-ke) refers to the whole Tokugawa clan. ~
一族いちぞく(ichizoku) refers to a group of people/households who are related by blood. This mainly refers to those living in the same period, and they often do similar things like running a government, managing a circus, making violins, etc. ~
氏うじ (uji) referred to an old form of Japanese clans. See: Uji (clan). Basically this is an uncommon historical term. As you may already know, today 氏 is usually read し and is used as a suffix for a person with that family name ("Mr./Ms. ~"). In academic contexts you can say 徳川氏 (とくがわし or とくがわうじ) to refer to Tokugawa clan, but this may be a little confusing to laypeople. ~
族ぞく(zoku) is "~ tribe". It refers to a social/ethnic group which is much larger than a family. ~
藩はん (han) is a suffix for old Japanese municipalities, not people nor families. See Han system. ~
閥ばつ (batsu) is a dated word for a familial corporation conglomerate. See: Zaibatsu. ~
一門いちもん (ichimon), in modern Japanese, usually refers to a group of rakugo performers, sumo wrestlers, etc. Members do not have to be related by blood.
Yokai Watch Bug Wiki
The Yokai Watch Bug Wiki is a Application with a dedicated device that is first seen on episode 1 with the character Eddie (Kanchi) who accesses it looking for the size averages of stag beetles to measure Bears (Gorota) catch. This is also how Nate (Keita) finds out his catch is average and his catch is then compared from Katie (Fumika) who states the Beetle is as average as Nate.A Bug Wiki is a digital publication that is collaboratively edited and managed by the audience of people in Yokai Watch Japan who enjoy working on it through the application. It could be possible there is a web browser version as well and that Eddie could be accessing it from a dedicated device, but it isn’t specified.
Currency of Yen in Yokai Watch
Yen is Japanese Money, and in Japanese it looks like 円, or the symbol: ¥; and coded as JPY. It is used in Yokai Watch and seen at first as a 100¥ Coin that give or take is about 1 US dollar most of the time. Yen comes in the form of coins: 1¥, 5¥, 10¥, 50¥, 100¥, and 500¥. Bill forms of Yen also has its own types, like: 1000¥, 2000¥, 5000¥, and 10000¥.
Checking the “Currency Exchange” is an important factor in being able to have a service to convert your local country's currency into Japanese Money.
While it is used in the fictional world of Yokai Watch it actually is the official currency of Japan. In the game it is saved to buy all sorts of items and used in the story for the Crank-a-Kai, so players learn about the game along with learning about Japan and its currency.
Ancient Crank-a-Kai: The Ancient Crank-a-Kai is a particular stone made machine that comes from 190 years ago from the 2010s as stated in history of the story, but no one knows for sure. The Ancient Crank-a-Kai is located in Mount Wildwood and appears throughout much of the series with consistency. As many other types of Crank-a-Kai it uses a Color system for its Capcules, Items, etc, so it is easy to identify what sort of thing will come out as a sort of anticipation before opening for the user.
The Annoying Yokai Butler: Edo Period, 1820’s the Story of a Annoying Yokai Butler who was already turned into a Yokai had been sealed into a capsule and placed into the Ancient Crank-a-Kai. That means that the Crank-A-Kai would be in the time of the Early Meiji Period, but who knows how Crank-A-Kais could be so old, or how they could crank with stone alone, or even the idea that the capsules themselves have spirit magic attached to it.
Early Meiji Production: The Ancient Crank-A-Kai was produced by the given time of the 1820s, so in the history of the world it would be available through the shipping ports as it was pre-air travel. It is not very widely used in the modern day, but it would mean those who may know about how they use to work and their production would be limited to those who study historical texts about old technology. That also means the more that is known about the Early Meiji period the more will be known about the older yokai, the older era, and Yokai Human Relations.
The Near Miss industry is a business group that is from the Yokai World and consists of the companies and independent Yokai that have a hobby or earn their day to day living through fighting large transportation vehicles. While stated seriously by the Yokai Jibanyan it may or may not actually have existed, but if it were it would likely be created from Jibanyan himself as an older Yokai to act as a sort of service of inspiriting humans As more is understood throughout the series of the Life of a Human and the Life of a Yokai it slowly becomes clear why or how such industries could be demand from the world of the living and the world of the dead. That means saving humans from possible accidents could be some big business, so maybe Jibanyan isn’t wasting his time?

Yokai Watch Research
A Yokai Watch is a watch-shaped accessory item that is necessary to Watcher's and their spotting and summoning Yokai. It is a general term that is used to describe various types of Yokai Watches in the modern Yokai World and Human World. Whenever there are major systematic mechanics dealing with Yokai it is common for NPC’s to be the Yokai Job Class of Butler. In the case of the Yokai Exchange Shop for Yokai in Yokai Watch 4 it is run by the Yokai Kosaru. There is an application with a exchange shop symbol that makes it easily accessible from the main menu.
NPC Konsaru: Yokai Konsaru, is an anthropomorphic Monkey and Spirit monkey as is its name of Kon (Soul) Saru (Monkey). The mannerisms are similar to that of a butler and he has a business coat on as well. He has the unique eye marking that is given from the government in the Yokai world to those Yokai who tamper with the fate of a Human being get as the Yokai Whisper.
Kosaru deals in the business of dealing with “Souls” for items that are exchanged for summonings that are similar and an alternative to the Crank-a-Kai. It creates a farming system for the game to gain generic “Tribe Souls” in exchange for Yokai as well.
Suitoru: Suitoru comes from the term Kon Suitoru and the word Suitoru means to suck up or absorb while Kon is Soul "Suck up the Soul". Suitoru is the process that happens during battle and you have a chance to collect Yokai Soul when the Yokai is close to death or fainting and it drops a random "Soul Orb". If you collect enough of them you will get a chance to be matched with a Yokai. There are types of Soul Orbs, there is: Colored Soul Orbs of Red Type, Silver Type, and Gold Type.
Konkatsu: Konkatsu is a pun on the word Kanji word of Konkatsu which is searching for a marriage partner, but the kon in Yokai Watch means soul, so it could mean soul searching. This means such an area that deals with souls could include some sort of possibility to include things to do with real life soul searching if the developers want to fully expand upon it. Finding your soul and finding "Soul Orb" at the same time? fantastic!
In soulmatching you'll be trading in souls in exhange for befriendable yo-kai by the Monkey Konsaru. To obtain said souls you'll have to use the Yo-kai Watch's soulsucking feature and absorb them from other yo-kai during battle. You know it looks like Natsume when inside a bar. And the atmosphere alludes to that.
Yokai Spirit Detector: Tae is the grand daughter of the Arihoshi family that passed down generations of spiritual practices seen as a sort of dark sorcery or connection to the after life. She has a "Yokai Spirit Detector" that was from her family heirlooms. It is shown in Yokai Watch Movie Forever Friends.
It is constructed by humans and was an invention that allowed people to be aware that a Yokai was nearby, even without the ability to see them or communicate with them.

What Do you do in a Role Playing Game?
A role playing game is to create a character, play acting said character from a sheet, and focus on storytelling of a game master to guide you through the plot while the players act it out. For those that are just starting out it is a relaxing time with friends, sometimes funny and sometimes serious. The rules of the game are presented to create characters and personas for roleplaying as well as referring to how the character feels, thinks, acts, and values.
